About

Hi. My name is Eric Johnson. I’m a web developer — and sometime teacher and writer.
Past coding and teaching gigs have covered much of the uppercase alphabet — especially the X’s.
I have taught Cobol programmers JSP, unlucky programmers ASP and liberal arts graduates XML/XSL/XSD. I’ve taught GJXDM, a dialect of XML large enough that Microsoft names it when plumping their MSXML 6 processor.
And I’ve got enough PHP and ASP.NET to code my way into a paper bag — and enough Java, Perl, CSS, SQL to code my way out.
Next: RoR — with Stuart Halloway and Justin Gehtland’s excellent Rails for Java Developers
All right, I hear that fellow in the back groan Get a resume. Check.
But enough about me…
As for my famous name — yes, I do look familiar. But —
- I am not a famous guitar player, nor
- Dean of an august college, nor
- Tight End for the New Orleans Saints, nor
- Any of the Eric Johnsons who apparently have worked in Hollywood in the last 100 years.
Despite all that I do seem to exist. I think.
