The Case Foundations Make It Your Own Awards
Business Objective: Grant application and review software for The Case Foundations first online grant competition.
Technical Challenges:
- Security of the public voting that determined the final grantees
- Grant review by volunteer reviewers, so ease-of-use was critical
- Grantees were given blogs, photo and video upload space, and fundraising widgets
- Scaling to handle expected traffic from the press
Technical Solution: A Drupal installation with customized workflow rules for grant application and review. Built to scale on Amazon’s EC2 cloud servers. Public voting integrated a Flash ballot (designed for us by Hirshorn Zuckerman Design Group) with a backend voting engine by Election-America.
